NSC Rhomeo

The Rhomeo monoflap saddle is one of our most popular models. The North American NSC team has designed this saddle in its entirety based on years of saddle fitting experience and input from both top riders and their horses. The Rhomeo comes standard in a gorgeous, supple english tanned buffalo leather flap and skirt. The wooden spring steel tree is adjustable in width by an approved saddle fitter so that the saddle can be refitted as needed for your changing horse, or can be refit to a new horse. We have created a twist that feels narrow to the rider, while keeping the rails broader for the comfort of the modern dressage horse. The tree’s design allows the horse’s back to come up through the base of the wither for a revolutionary ride. Our panels are flocked softly with natural wool, and shaped broadly with an appropriately wide channel to clear the sensitive anatomical structures of the horse’s spine and rest on the long muscles of the back. The panels remain soft but thin, to allow a close contact feeling between your aids and the horse. The feedback from this saddle has been amazing from our riders, both professional and amateur, who love the horses’s response, as well as the deep supportive feel of the seat.

Within the Rhomeo model we offer four different panel designs to cater to most back profiles encountered in the dressage horse. We have options to fit uphill, downhill, flat, wide, narrow, and curvy backs. Selecting the right panel will support your horse as the interface between the weight of the rider and the topline muscles of the horse. The saddle panel should distribute the pressure under the rider, stabilize the saddle, and help balance the saddle from front to back and left to right. Please consult with your saddle fitter to help decide which panel will work best for your horse, as this can be a complex decision based on biomechanics and rider ability, not just static conformation interpretation.
